Rickloff Community Boathouse

Completed in 2014, the Rickloff Community Boathouse is home for the Reyburn Sailing School. With a large, technology-enabled classroom and a gorgeous setting on Presque Isle Bay, the 3,686 square foot Boathouse is perfect for education and meetings. Half of the building’s space is dedicated to a 50-seat full-equipped instruction room complete with a kitchenette. The other half of the structure is dedicated to ample storage space of the instructional boats, with a locker room for instructors, bathroom facilities, and an office for the Director of the Reyburn Sailing School.

Equipment

The Boathouse has several floating docks which hold the Reyburn Sailing School’s fleet of Club 420 sailboats. These boats are available for lease to local schools and colleges who are interested in establishing interscholastic and intercollegiate sailing programs. The educational boats and floating docks are protected by a 220’ wave attenuator, increasing the natural protection of the Erie Bay against rough winds and waters, which allows students to practice their boating skills in the safest environment possible.

Community availability

The facility is available for community rental. Catering for up to 80 people is also available. To schedule the building contact Elizabeth Dugan at 814-453-4931, or by email at catering@erieyachtclub.org.
